Drop off location

At THE hairdressers we accept:

WARM CLOTHES
We reach out to people experiencing homelessness and sleeping rough on the streets. Warm gloves, socks and hats are especially helpful in the winter months. We’ll distribute them via our outreach projects and drop-in centres.

TOILETRIES
We support 17,000 people each year, including a large number of residents in our accommodation projects. We always need deodorant, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitary products, moisturiser etc. (no sharp items or aerosols please).

GIFT SETS
Gift sets are great! They provide people with the chance to give their loved ones Christmas presents and birthday gifts that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford. They also make a lovely treat for residents who may not receive any other gifts for Christmas or birthdays themselves due to estrangement or isolation from family and friends.

SLEEPWEAR
Pyjamas can be a luxury when you’re living in poverty and nights can be cold if you can’t heat your home.

ITEMS WE’RE UNABLE TO ACCEPT
Please do not donate alcohol, razors or blades.
Please don’t wrap your gifts as we’ll need to unwrap them to check suitability.

Are you thinking of cutting and donating your hair?

At THE hairdressers we have supported lots of people who want to donate their hair to Little Princess Trust. Please get in touch so we can make sure that the hair you send is cut and supplied in perfect condition.

When a child loses their hair to cancer, Little Princess Trust will be there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. You can help us give hair and hope to children and young people, by funding real hair wigs and ground-breaking childhood cancer research projects.

A valued client completed the Barbicide training

Amy Fraser client photo120

“After seeing that the fabulous team at THE hairdressers, West Moor had completed the Barbicide training I was so interested to find out more. So I looked on the website and it was amazing to see that they had already taken steps to make their customers feel more comfortable and safe for when they can re-open after Covid-19. I was truly inspired by their hard work and dedication to their business that I decided to take the course myself, as I also work in the beauty industry I felt this would be beneficial to services. After taking the course as a regular customer of THE hairdressers and seeing what will be put into place to keep everyone safe, reassured me and will reduce anxieties for any customer returning after Covid-19. I look forward to THE hairdressers reopening, to receive the fantastic service that they always give.”

Amy Fraser

Amy has been a loyal client to us always promoting us and just being a really kind positive client.
We are very grateful to have a fan like her and to think we inspired her to take action and learn for herself makes us so proud!
