Stunning hairdressing in West Moor
Salon owner Belinda Hillman started hairdressing in Wales and after she qualified, she went off to work on a cruise ship, where she met Kevin. And so it all began. Belinda moved to Newcastle-upon-Tyne and worked in the City at Wildes Hairdressing, then started work at the salon, Headlines, which she now owned since 2006.
We believe our clients should feel special in our salon and its luxurious surroundings, with excellent services. We give value beyond expectations every time and continue to grow within the hair and beauty industry and the community. Training our team to be the best version of themselves is so important to us and teaching them the values of being in such a great profession, with a great team serving fantastic clients and being part of something special at THE hairdressers. We are so grateful for the public’s support in voting for us, in return making us an award winning salon.
Our staff are encouraged to reach for the stars!
As a salon owner Belinda is as passionate about the hair industry as she has ever been. As well as training her own team at THE hairdressers she is also a Hairdressing Educator and Mentor. Find out more at belindamindset.com.
When you can connect on a personal and professional level, you are creating trust and value, which we think is the secret to our success.

Assistant Manager
I became part of THE hairdressers team 11 years ago. From the beginning of my training I wanted to be a stylist as soon as possible. I’ve had excellent training and been able to go to London five times for training. I love working with the girls and they are so supportive. We celebrate birthdays and all our achievements together – It’s like one big family! Every year our team get stronger with new arrivals. I feel privileged that I work here.
Aimi Chater
Senior Stylist
I’ve worked at THE hairdressers for nearly 9 years and I love my job! I love meeting new people everyday, love solving problems, and making people feel better. We stay busy, and the day flies by. I go home at night knowing I may not have changed the world, but I did at least make someone else’s day brighter.
We’re a small team and we all bring something different to the salon.
Charlie Toon
Junior Stylist - Gone travelling
Since joining THE hairdressers team in June 2017 my skills have gone from strength to strength. As soon as I walked through the door, I was welcomed with open arms, by everyone. I have learnt so much and feel privileged by the amazing training I have received. This has taught me so much because the girls have seen how enthusiastic I am and I don’t stop asking questions. They have taught me in-depth about techniques, colours, cutting and how to managed clients.
In the short time I have been here, I have grown in confidence. I was overwhelmed when I received the news about being a finalist and so grateful that clients took to me so well and for their support towards the Salon. I have won a Highly Commended Award at the English Hair and Beauty Awards, for Best Junior.

My apprenticeship started at THE hairdressers in 2018 and have never looked back.
I have enjoyed every minute of it and all the girls are lovely to work with.
I have gained lots of new skills in a short amount of time.
We are always learning new skills
We worked with award winning colourist, Georgia Bell for her on-trend colouring skills. This training day really motivated the team and enhanced our skills.
